Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. The members of the LA Sparks and staff, including the numerous mothers among us, are dedicated to supporting March of Dimes to help ensure that all babies get a healthy start on life.

We invite you to join the LA Sparks team and participate in the March for Babies on April 24 at Exposition Park. Last year, our team was led by then-pregnant, Candace Parker. This year, our team will be led by March of Dimes Ambassador and Sparks legend, Lisa Leslie, who is pregnant with her second child.

We hope that you will join us in the March for Babies that supports lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that will help to ensure that one day all babies will be born healthy!

On February 9th, the Sparks, March of Dimes Ambassador Lisa Leslie and Farmers Insurance came together for the 2010 March for Babies Kick-Off Breakfast at UCLA. Teams of corporations, community groups and supporters committed to walk a three-mile course to raise funds so that one day all babies are born healthy.

Sparks legend Lisa Leslie served as the host for the event and spoke about the importance of the March for Babies cause. She spoke about her own children and how grateful she was that her first child, Lauren, was born healthy and how she has learned so much in her role as Ambassador in preparation for her soon-to-arrive baby boy.

The event at UCLA was a chance for all of the team leaders to get together to motivate and inspire each other to raise funds for the cause. The event, sponsored by Sparks Marquee Partner Farmers Insurance, was headlined by David T. Feinberg, who is the Los Angeles March for Babies Chair.
