COLLINS AND BARDO JOIN SKY BROADCAST TEAM
Eric Collins and Stephen Bardo will join the Sky as the play-by-play announcer and color analyst respectively for the 2015 season. The 2015 Sky local broadcast schedule includes 21 games that will be shown locally by Weigel Broadcasting on WCIU, The U Too and U Too Sports

Eric Collins returns to the Chicago Sky as the TV play-by-play announcer. Collins served as the Sky’s play-by-play announcer for the team’s first three seasons (2006-2008). Since then he’s emerged as one of the most versatile announcers in the country, splitting his time with the BIG 10 Network and FOX Sports 1. Prior to that Collins spent six years at ESPN (2004-2009) covering a wide-range of sports.
A Chicago native, Collins logged five seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2009-2013) serving as the TV play-by-play announcer for the majority of the road games. Collins has long had a passion for women’s sports. He’s considered one of the preeminent voices for Fast-Pitch Softball serving as the long-time TV play-by-play announcer for USA Softball (2004-2010) and National Pro Fast-Pitch (2014-2015). Collins also garnered experience as the sideline reporter for the Chicago Bulls from 1997-2002 as well as the pre-game and post-game host for the Chicago White Sox and Cubs. Collins received his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Lawrence University and a Master’s Degree from Syracuse University.

Collins will work alongside Stephen Bardo, who will serve as the color analyst throughout the 2015 season. Bardo, who began his broadcast career in 2000, has extensive experience having served as a color analyst for the Illini Sports Network and college basketball on ESPN and the Big Ten Network. He also has experience as a sports reporter for WBBM-TV in Chicago, an analyst and reporter for CBS Sports and he has made guest appearances on ESPN First Take. In addition to being a successful broadcaster, Bardo authored the book How to Make The League Without Picking Up The Rock and tours the country speaking about leadership and overcoming adversity.
Prior to a career in broadcasting, Bardo enjoyed a 10-year professional basketball career in the NBA (Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs) and overseas (France, Italy, Japan, Spain and Venezuela). As the starting point guard all four years at the University of Illinois, Bardo helped the Fighting Illini reach the NCAA Tournament each season. During his career, he was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and was a two-time all-conference team member. In 1989, his team reached the Final Four.
“I’m a lifelong basketball fan so the opportunity to work with the Sky, for me, is really exciting,” said Bardo. “I’m getting to cover some of the most-talented athletes in the world who are in a position to compete for a WNBA title.”
As part of a multi-year broadcast partnership with Weigel Broadcasting, 21 Chicago Sky games this season will be shown on WCIU, The U Too and U Too Sports. The U Too can be seen over-the-air on WCIU-DT 26.2 or on cable channels XFINITY 248/360, RCN 35 and WOW 170.
The Sky opens the 2015 Season on June 5 at Allstate Arena when they host the Indiana Fever in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. Prior to tip-off, the team will unveil its 2014 Eastern Conference Championship banner.
