Shock Adds Jessica Kuster to Camp Roster

The Tulsa Shock have signed free agent Jessica Kuster to a training camp contract. Kuster, a forward from Rice University, averaged a career-high 20.9 points per game, 13.4 rebounds per game during her senior year (2013-14).

“Jessica is a player that will compete for a roster spot during our training camp,” said Steve Swetoha, President of the Tulsa Shock. “She is a natural scorer and plays solid defense. We look forward to seeing her compete for a roster spot.”

Kuster signed as an undrafted free agent on April 21, 2014 with the San Antonio Stars and was waived prior to the season on May 15, 2014. During the WNBA offseason, Kuster is playing for Alba Lulia in Romania and is averaging 22 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game.

“Kuster is a player that can play fast pace basketball,” said Fred Williams, Head Coach of the Tulsa Shock. “She was a proven scorer in college and now overseas that will help us expand our outside scoring. She can defend smaller or taller players, which will give us a size and speed advantage against opponents. Kuster is also a high-energy player that has a natural instinct for rebounding and getting loose balls. We are delighted to have her in training camp this spring.”

Tulsa’s home opener will be on Saturday, June 6 vs. Chicago Sky at 7:00 p.m. at the BOK Center. For season tickets and more information call 918-949-9700.
